① Entradas Reservoir

Located in Entradas, after the exit towards São Marcos da Ataboeira. It has a small picnic area and shade.

You will start your journey in Castro Verde before heading to the rural village of Entradas. As you ride through the Biosphere Reserve you will be crossing the heart of the steppe land. We suggest a short detour to get to know the Vale Gonçalinho Environmental Education Center. Depending on your pace you might decide to have lunch at Entradas.

The route continues along the plains of Alentejo, which starts to transform from the extensive steppe land into lush vineyards. You will pass by Herdade da Malhadinha Nova and Vila Galé Clube de Campo, two options for rural lodging.

As you start to approach Aljustrel you will begin to see the first traces of the rich mining heritage of the area. In Pedras Brancas you can visit the Teleiras which are old stone structures where the ore was burned. Once inside the village, you have several options to explore more about the 2000 years of  historical mining legacy which shaped how Aljustrel has developed to this day.
