Day 1- Arriving to Lisbon or Faro airport ; Transfer from the airport to Castro VerdeOvernight in Castro Verde (Hotel Esteva or Monte da Ameixa)
Day 2- Walking tour 1 Castro Verde- 11,7 km (4hours), total climbing 180m. Not far from the village you will walk next to the battle field where hundreds of years ago the Portuguese king had a battle.
Overnight in Castro Verde (Hotel Esteva or Monte da Ameixa)
Day 3- Walking tour 2-Ourique 13,5km (4 to 5 hours), 445m total climbing, moderate level.This is a day where you will walk in a different landscape next to the mountain range that separate Alentejo from the Algarve.Overnight in Castro Verde (Hotel Esteva or Monte da Ameixa)
Day 4- Walking tour 3-Almodôvar 9,2 km (3 to 4 hours), 315m total climbing, moderate level.This walk is located next to Odelouca River banks, changing from previous landscapes.Overnight in Castro Verde (Hotel Esteva or Monte da Ameixa)
Day 5- Rest Day or Cultural Visit to Mértola or optional Walking.Use this day to rest or to visit the old village of Mertola, with its castle and mourish heritage sites, with several museums, old ruins and remainings from those times.Overnight in Mértola (Hotel Museu or Quinta do Vau)
Day 6- Walking tour 5-Mértola 13,5km (4 to 5 hours ), 155m, total climbing, moderate level.A change again in the landscape, walking through cork oaks and open fields and ending in the old mining site of São Domingos with impressive remainings from the mine operation days.Overnight in Mértola (Hotel Museu or Quinta do Vau)
Day 7- Walking tour 6- Mertola 11,5km (4 hours) 115m total climbing.An interesting walk day considering birdwatching oportunities and different points of interest along the way, like an old mining site.Overnight in Mértola (Hotel Museu or Quinta do Vau)
Day 8- Transfer to Lisbon ; Departure
