Explore the ruins of an ancient castle and look for hidden secrets.

Castro da Cola is classified as a National Monument and is part of a larger archaeological site that includes Megalithic and Calcolithic monuments, including a necropolis from the Bronze and Iron Ages.

The castle was occupied by different civilizations. During the Islamic presence in the Iberian peninsula, the castle was reinforced to serve as an outpost. The fortification controlled one of the principal routes of passage into the Algarve.
