Pomarão
Quiet village in the East bank of the river Guadiana near the docks
The small urban settlement gained some developed in the XIX century with arrival of the railway coming from the mines of São Domingos and with the construction of the port to transport the loads of ore. Since the closing of the mine the place lost most of the population.
Today tourism is bringing some activity to Pomarão and boats are stopping by. In the few streets near the port it is possible to relax and to enjoy the nice landscape.
