The journey begins in Aljustrel and heads towards Messejana, a charming village with whitewashed houses, where you may relax for a while near to the main square with the clock tower in front of you.
Follow the road towards Panóias, pass by the Monte da Rocha dam and proceed to Ourique, the capital of the Alentejo black pig, where you may have lunch or snacks. You can go up to the viewpoint of the old castle to observe the surrounding landscape.
The trip goes south, the Alentejo plains gives way to the mountain areas that will bring you closer to the Algarve, the route becomes more demanding and rougher. The landscape becomes wilder, the road will only pass through some small villages such as São Martinho das Amoreiras, Santana da Serra and Gomes Aires, before the end of the journey in Almodôvar.
