This is a more physically demanding journey that will take you to cycle through mountain areas on the border between Alentejo and Algarve, unveiling landscapes of great beauty.
The departure takes place in Almodôvar, a village that has several points of interest such as museums and churches, but also a medieval bridge where you may cycle and take some photographs at the beginning of the journey.
The road will follow towards the mountain area of Mú with the peak at 577 meters, around here you will feel the wind energy and see several turbines along the way.
Part of the route is made in a loop going towards the village of São Barnabé, following the valley of the river Odelouca. The landscape will present fields of agriculture, forests and shrubs of arbutus whose berries are used to produce a famous liquor in the villages nearby.
The roads are peaceful, the human presence is reduced, the landscapes are inspiring for cycling with tranquility. The loop part of the journey will end in the mountains of Mú and from there the road will follow again towards Almodôvar. In the village there are several restaurants with regional food from Alentejo where you may recover your energy.
